www.empire.edu The Center City location of Empire Beauty School in Philadelphiarecently honored their students' moms and the other people who inspire them to follow their dreams. Come take a look at what happened at the Celebrating Mom Open House. The school had their students invite their moms or other inspiring people to an open house event. Here, the students could show off what they had been learning to their moms and make them proud. After indulging in some snacks like cookies and a delicious cake, moms could hop into their sons' and daughters' salon chairs and get some special treatment. Advanced students got to try out their cutting, coloring, and styling techniques on their moms. Moms could also receive manicures, pedicures, and other services. Students who haven't reached the point of working on real clients got to show off the techniques they've learned on their mannequin heads. They had a competition to see who could come up with the most interesting hair style. Their moms were very impressed by how far their sons and daughters had come in such a short amount of time. At the end of the day, Empire presented a giant check from a fundraiser they had. The money the students and moms had raised went to a local Center City charity called Women Against Abuse.
